Hector examines how young activists navigate schools communities, families, community organizations, and the mainstream media and employ a variety of strategies to make their voices heard on some of today's most pressing issues-youth violence, education, the environmental, parents, adult accountability.

Mary-Pat's motto is "Don't wait to be great you can change the world now." Mary-Pat knows what it was to turn heartache into hope. When she as 11 her best friend was killed, she began to see how she could use this to encourage and empower those around her to advocate for youth issues.Mary-Pat is an engaging communicator and a leading teen expert who is making a significant impact in the lives of her generation. Since the age of 12 years old, Mary-Pat has delivered over 319 presentations to over 50,000 students in 42 different states. She has a unique ability to capture an audience's attention with honesty and humor, yet still challenge them to think and apply action to their lives.
